The black iPhone Pro makes its comeback.
Apple has made a welcome return to form by introducing a black model in the iPhone Pro lineup once again. Last year, the iPhone 17 Pro showcased some vibrant colors, including a striking orange, a sleek silver, and a deep blue. While those shades were appealing, the absence of black (or dark gray) marked a first since the iPhone Pro series debuted in September 2019 with the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max.
This matters to me because I’m a loyal black phone buyer. After my experience with the iPhone 6, where I opted for gold to switch things up, I learned my lesson the hard way. I prefer a phone that seamlessly blends into the background and looks good with any case I choose. Following the iPhone 6, I switched to the iPhone 7 in the stunning matte black (I wasn’t daring enough to risk scratches on the jet black version), and since then, I’ve only purchased black or gray models.
My black titanium iPhone 16 Pro, paired with a black Torras case and a mostly black home screen, is still performing beautifully, so I’m not in the market for a new phone just yet. However, when I make my annual pilgrimage to the local Apple Store in mid-September to check out the latest iPhones, I won’t be rushing to see the iPhone 18 Pro in burgundy, blue, or silver. My priority will be the black model.
Just take a look at it! It’s fantastic!
Now, Apple, how about a black iPhone Duo?
