The Boys Actor Joins Cast of Upcoming X-Men Movie

Last month at D23, Disney’s fan convention, Marvel unveiled the first confirmed cast members and characters for its upcoming X-Men movie, set to bring beloved mutants like Cyclops and Storm into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Recently, it was announced that another mutant will be joining the reboot: Angel.

According to reports, Asa Germann is in final negotiations to portray Warren Worthington III, better known as Angel. Germann gained recognition for his role as Sam Riordan in the Amazon Prime Video series based on The Boys and had a supporting part in Scream 7. He had previously auditioned for the role of Cyclops/Scott Summers, which ultimately went to Kit Connor from Heartstopper.

Angel is one of the original members of the X-Men, alongside Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, and Beast. Jean Grey, played by Sadie Sink, was introduced in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but there’s no update yet on whether Iceman or Beast will feature in director Jake Schreier’s reboot.

Angel’s powers come from his large, white, angel-like wings, granting him the ability to fly. He first appeared on the big screen in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, portrayed by Ben Foster. In that film, his mutation led his father to create the “mutant cure,” which drives the film’s conflict. A darker version of Angel appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse, played by Ben Hardy, where he joined Apocalypse as one of his Horsemen and became Archangel.

X-Men is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2028. The film will feature Adam Driver as Mister Sinister, Christopher Abbott as Professor X/Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as White Queen/Emma Frost, Inde Navarette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm/Ororo Munroe, Connor as Cyclops, Sink as Jean Grey, and now Germann as Angel.

But seriously, where’s Beast?
