The Division Definitive Edition Discovered in the Wild
It looks like a definitive edition of The Division is on the horizon. This comes alongside ongoing updates for The Division 2 and the upcoming The Division 3, as well as a mobile game titled The Division Resurgence. Recently, promotional material for the unannounced The Division Definitive Edition surfaced in Japan, though the authenticity of these images remains uncertain. Additionally, new merchandise related to The Division has been spotted, with speculation that it could be tied to an upcoming esports event for the franchise.
Originally launched in 2016, The Division will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026, coinciding with several other notable anniversaries, including Donkey Kong (45 years), The Legend of Zelda (40 years), Sonic (35 years), Pokémon (30 years), Resident Evil (30 years), Halo (25 years), and the 250th anniversary of the United States. There has been outreach to Ubisoft for comments regarding the rumored Definitive Edition. If it materializes, it may follow the trend of other definitive editions, featuring visual and performance enhancements, along with bundled DLC content. Given that the original game was released on PS4 and Xbox One, a definitive edition could potentially launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, though this is purely speculative.
As for The Division 3, director Julian Gerighty recently teased that the project is shaping up to be a “monster.” Announced in 2023, details about the game are still under wraps, but anticipation is high.
