The full trailer reveals the story behind The Mandalorian and Grogu.

After dropping a Super Bowl ad that celebrated the event rather than the upcoming film, Disney has finally unveiled a genuine trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu.

The new footage showcases some iconic elements of the Star Wars universe: an X-Wing soaring through a vibrant sunset, the familiar sounds of buttons and levers being manipulated in a spacecraft’s cockpit, and the classic musical themes that fans know and love. It appears that Mando is on a bounty hunt for a particular Hutt, a gangster seemingly allied with the Empire, which could spark another conflict.

Directed by Jon Favreau, who co-wrote the film with Dave Filoni, The Mandalorian and Grogu features Pedro Pascal reprising his role as the titular Mandalorian, Din Djarin. The cast also includes Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, Sigourney Weaver as Ward, and Jonny Coyne as an Imperial Warlord. Ludwig Göransson returns to provide the score for this sequel to the Disney Plus series.

Since its debut in 2019, The Mandalorian has followed a solitary bounty hunter traversing the galaxy’s outer edges, far from the New Republic, as he protects a mysterious Force-sensitive child named Grogu. The series is available on Disney Plus and currently has three seasons, with no updates on a fourth season, according to former cast member Katy O’Brien.

The film is set to hit theaters on May 22.
