The inaugural Story-Rich showcase featured a lineup of engaging narrative-driven games.

Fellow Traveller recently concluded its Story-Rich Showcase, highlighting a variety of narrative-driven indie games. With over 20 titles featured, there were plenty of exciting announcements. Here are some of the standout highlights.

Ambrosia Sky is set to release its second and final episode as a free update on August 6th. This sci-fi adventure, where players tackle the cleanup of alien fungi, was initially planned to have three acts, but the developer decided to streamline it to two. Following the launch of Act Two, the game’s price will increase from $14.99 to $24.99.

The Citizen Sleeper series is making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25th. Both Citizen Sleeper and its sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, will be available for players who already own them on the original Switch at no additional cost. The developer has also teased that they will unveil their next project during the upcoming PC Gaming Show.

Desktop Explorer, a horror puzzle game that immerses players in a creepy, retro-style operating system, is set to launch on July 17th. This unique title promises a chilling experience as players navigate through its eerie interface.

Demonschool, a tactical RPG inspired by Buffy and Persona, is gearing up to release paid DLC and will also be available on the Switch 2. The DLC will introduce “puzzle battles,” where players must strategically eliminate enemies using specific characters in a single turn. Both the DLC and the Switch 2 version, which will feature mouse support and enhanced frame rates, are expected to launch later this year.

Powerhoof, the team behind last year’s retro mystery game The Drifter, is now developing The Telwynium, a fantasy adventure epic. “Book One” of this new title is currently available on Steam, with an option to purchase it on Itch.io as well.

Lastly, SFB Games, known for titles like Tangle Tower and Crow Country, is set to release The Mermaid Mask on July 16th. This detective game features a locked-door mystery, complete with full voice acting and hand-drawn animations, making it a perfect story to dive into this summer.
