The JBL Quantum 950X is the standout headset of CES 2026 for me.

JBL is expanding its Quantum headset lineup with three new models: the luxurious Quantum 950X, the Quantum 650X, and the more budget-friendly Quantum 250. All three headsets feature the brand’s impressive 50mm carbon dynamic audio drivers. The standout model, the Quantum 950X, showcased at CES 2026, is the flagship gaming headset in this release. It not only boasts 50mm drivers but also delivers Hi-Res Certified Audio with minimal distortion, powered by JBL’s QuantumENGINE for active noise cancellation. What really sets the 950X apart is its hot-swappable battery system, making the hassle of charging a thing of the past.

Similar to the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, the Quantum 950X includes an extra battery that can be easily swapped out. JBL has added its own twist to this charging solution, as the headset will come with a Base Station that serves as both a 2.4GHz wireless audio dongle and a hub for audio and lighting effects.

The Quantum 950X will also feature a 6mm cardioid noise-cancelling boom microphone and is set to retail for $399.95 in April. If that price is a bit steep, the Quantum 650X offers the same 50mm audio drivers in a more budget-friendly package, launching at $119.95 in the same month. While it lacks the fancy Base Station, the 650X still provides versatile connectivity options, including 2.4GHz wireless audio, Bluetooth 5.3, and a wired connection via a 3.5mm cable.

For those looking for an even more affordable option, the Quantum 250 is the entry-level headset priced at just $79.95, launching in March 2026. It features wired connectivity and a 6mm cardioid noise-cancelling boom microphone, while still packing those 50mm audio drivers at a fraction of the cost.

You won’t have to wait long to get your hands on these new JBL headsets, though the color options are somewhat limited for those seeking a standout design. The Quantum 950X and 650X will initially be available only in black, while the 250 will offer both black and white versions. At least the customizable RGB lighting on the Quantum 950X will add some flair to the typical all-black headset look.

While these headsets are set to launch in March and April 2026 in the US, JBL has not yet provided details on availability in the UK. It’s likely that these models will correspond to the existing Quantum 950 and 650 SKUs already available online, but updates on UK launch dates will be shared as they become available.
