The largest indie gaming showcase is set to make its comeback next month.
After a successful spring event, Evil Empire’s Triple-i Initiative Showcase is set to return this fall. The Bordeaux-based developer is gearing up for another celebration of upcoming indie games on October 8. This event serves as a refreshing alternative to the Game Awards, promising “No ads, no host, just games.” Fans can look forward to world premieres, gameplay reveals, release dates, and other announcements from 40 games, including titles like Dave the Diver, Risk of Rain 2, and the PvE pirate survival game Windrose.

Now in its third year, the not-for-profit Triple-i initiative has experienced consistent growth globally, thanks to its focus on a targeted audience. Back in March, Evil Empire’s head of business, Benjamin Laulan, shared insights about the selection process, stating, “It’s a really fine line that we’re walking on because we have different parameters to respect. We only have around 40 slots available, because if you want to stay true to your formula, there are 45 minutes. We receive more than 300 submissions, so it’s a lot of hard decisions to make.”
Dupré added, “You have to make sure that the audience you’re bringing will resonate with the rest of the lineup. If you’re coming with 11 roguelikes, and your big world premiere is a soccer game, the soccer game might be disappointed with the reaction of the audience.”
In a press release accompanying today’s announcement, Evil Empire emphasized that their unwavering focus on games “has achieved high visibility for today’s best creative teams and the show continues to go from strength to strength.” The upcoming showcase will feature even more exciting announcements, including eight exclusive world premieres. Fans can also expect news on highly anticipated titles such as Hela: of Mice and Magic, Militsioner, the new Among Us title, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, Haunted Paws, and Outward 2.
The 45-minute show will be streamed on YouTube, Twitch, Steam, bilibili, and niconico on October 8 at 12 p.m. ET.
