Starsand Island, the delightful new “carefree” take on Stardew Valley from Chinese developer Seed Sparkle Lab, is now available in Early Access on Steam and Xbox Preview, and it’s already winning over the cozy gaming community. For those unfamiliar with this charming title, Starsand Island is a life simulation game that combines everything we’ve ever wanted, including the ability to fly on a hoverboard. It’s a unique experience that’s quickly becoming a standout in the genre. Since its Early Access launch, the indie game has garnered a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with nearly 2,000 reviews. “I’ve barely scratched the surface of this game,” one player shares, “but I get so immersed that I never want to put it down. I can’t wait for the full release.” Many players echo similar sentiments, with one highlighting a key improvement over Stardew Valley and other life sims: the ability to save your progress whenever you want, rather than being forced to wait until bedtime. “Finally, a farming/life sim that lets you save whenever instead of locking it behind sleeping for the day,” another review states. “11/10 – there’s no way I’m uninstalling this masterpiece.” I can’t emphasize enough how much I resonate with this feedback. Seed Sparkle Lab has acknowledged in an announcement that there appear to be several “artificial” positive reviews on Steam from suspected fake accounts. While this is a valid concern, I’ve gone through much of the feedback myself and found that most of it comes from genuine players.
