The Legend of Flute Guy Shines at The Game Awards 2025

Each year, The Game Awards delivers a mix of cringe-worthy and heartwarming moments, but few have left a lasting impression like orchestra member Pedro Eustache, affectionately known as “Flute Guy.” This year, he once again stole the show, showcasing his most unusual flute yet. Eustache first captured the internet’s attention in 2022 with his enthusiastic performance of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 medley on a uniquely designed tenor flute, and since then, he has become a staple at The Game Awards. Each year, he seems to command more screen time during the orchestral segments, playing increasingly larger and more eccentric flutes.

In 2025, Eustache continued this trend, even receiving his own announcement video on social media leading up to the event. His performance during the orchestral section was a highlight, featuring a standout flute part in the Death Stranding 2 arrangement, as well as a new, peculiar flute crafted from PVC pipe during the Clair Obscur tribute.

Flute Guy and the orchestral ensemble injected much-needed drama into one of the most anticipated Game of the Year announcements in the event’s history. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 made history by winning nine awards, including Game of the Year, and previously held the record for the most nominations with a total of 13. Additionally, it was named GameSpot’s Game of the Year for 2025. For a complete rundown of all the winners, surprises, and major announcements from The Game Awards 2025, be sure to check out the highlights from the show.
