The Must-See Concept from CES 2026 That Deserves to Hit the Market
CES is renowned for showcasing innovative concepts, and this year, Lenovo has stolen the spotlight with an intriguing experiment. While there were whispers about a rollable display for a Legion gaming laptop towards the end of 2025, CES 2026 has confirmed its existence—though it’s not quite ready for the market yet. If the Lenovo Legion Pro Rollable doesn’t make it to shelves, I’ll be genuinely disappointed.
This laptop boasts a fully expandable screen that transitions from its original 16-inch size to a whopping 24 inches. This is fantastic for esports enthusiasts seeking a broader field of view, but I’m particularly excited about the immersive experience it promises for single-player gaming.
Even the top-tier gaming laptops can’t compete with dedicated gaming monitors when it comes to display quality. After all, laptops are inherently portable, which often means sacrificing that blockbuster experience. No matter how powerful the graphics card, a laptop display alone just doesn’t cut it.
The display features Lenovo’s PureSight OLED panel, which retracts when the laptop is used in its standard form and expands via a dual-motor system. Lenovo claims this system maintains a “consistent tautness” across the panel, utilizing low-friction materials to protect the screen during the transition.
Essentially, the 16-inch display is flanked by two additional wings that blend seamlessly with the main panel, providing an uninterrupted viewing experience. I’d take this design over the vertical extension of the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 announced this year any day.
On the CES show floor, this proof of concept is powered by Intel Core Ultra processors (potentially Panther Lake, though unconfirmed) and an RTX 5090 GPU.
Lenovo is also showcasing its AI Engine+, featuring “real-time Scenario Detection” to enhance framerate performance. However, the AI Frame Gaming Display concept, which includes cursor tracking, AI game assistance, and adaptive lighting, is not part of the Legion Pro Rollable display.
Additionally, Lenovo has introduced a new lineup of Legion 5 machines at the event, equipped with AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series and Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, making them more accessible. The budget-friendly LOQ machines are also receiving CPU upgrades.
