The official teaser for Avengers: Doomsday has arrived, kicking off a year-long countdown.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have taken control of the narrative surrounding Avengers: Doomsday by releasing an official teaser, cleverly sidestepping the recent wave of social media leaks.

The Russos shared a brief clip on their Instagram, marking exactly one year until the film’s release. The teaser features a countdown clock that glitches to reveal the message DOOMSDAY.

This comes on the heels of several leaks related to Avengers: Doomsday, primarily due to the early release of the first in a series of four trailers in select theaters. To add to Marvel’s woes, a trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day was swiftly taken down from the internet.

The teaser, which was expected to be shown alongside screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash, hints at Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers returning to Peggy Carter and holding their child. It concludes with the announcement that Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday. The other three trailers are rumored to spotlight Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, and the film itself.

Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release on December 18, 2026. As revealed during a lengthy livestream in March, the cast is packed with both legacy MCU characters and new heroes, including actors from the X-Men, Thunderbolts, and Fantastic Four franchises.

Additionally, the Thunderbolts post-credits scene teased Avengers: Doomsday by showing the Fantastic Four ship entering Earth-616’s reality for unknown reasons. Doctor Doom also made an appearance in the Fantastic Four post-credits scene alongside Franklin Richards, though his face remained hidden.
