The Pixel 11 May Face RAM Shortage Challenges
The upcoming Pixel phones from Google might not live up to the expectations set by the Pixel 10 series, primarily due to a persistent RAM shortage. Recent leaks from MysticLeaks suggest that the Pixel 11 lineup could kick off with a base model featuring just 8GB of RAM, a step down from the current 12GB, as noted by an outlet.
Additionally, MysticLeaks indicates that the Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold may see a second configuration with 12GB of RAM, reduced from the existing 16GB in each variant. While there will still be 16GB options available, the introduction of a lower-spec model could lead to a price increase for the higher-end versions. On a brighter note, the leaked specs also hint at camera enhancements and improved display brightness for the Pro models.
This RAM shortage isn’t just affecting Google; other manufacturers, like Samsung, are also feeling the pinch and raising prices. The impact of this shortage extends beyond smartphones, with everything from gaming handhelds to Raspberry Pis facing similar price increases and adjustments in specifications.
