The platform for indie games is set to unveil its next lineup of reveals.
The 2026 Tribeca Festival has unveiled its official games lineup, celebrating its 25th anniversary. This year’s selection includes 12 titles vying for the Tribeca Games Award, which recognizes an unreleased game that showcases exceptional storytelling and innovation in interactive experiences. Attendees can experience free playable demos of these games at Manhattan’s Pier 57, open to the public from June 10-14. The lineup features several world premieres, such as the musical mystery *There Are No Ghosts At The Grand* and *Lofsöng*, an art-focused narrative adventure set in expansive brutalist environments.
Casey Baron, the festival’s senior programmer for film and games, remarked, “Over the years, the games program has been an early champion of titles that have gone on to critical acclaim and deeply resonate with players. This year’s selections reflect that legacy, showcasing the incredible breadth and ambition of storytelling in games today. I’m excited to continue to grow that vision in this new capacity.”
Festival-goers can also engage in various events and discussions, including “Luminaries: Dan Houser’s Absurd Ventures,” where Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser and his writing partner Lazlow will explore the evolution of storytelling beyond video games. Another highlight, “Control Resonant: Beyond the Oldest House,” will feature a conversation between the upcoming game’s creative director Mikael Kasurinen and Nia DaCosta, who previously won the Nora Ephron Prize for her film *Little Woods*. Additionally, the festival will showcase an immersive project titled *Escape The Internet: Part 2*, directed by Lucas Rizzotto, which merges cinema and gaming through live audience interaction.
Previous Tribeca Festival Official Selections for Games have included numerous award-winning titles, with participating games in the last five years alone garnering 165 nominations and 35 wins across major industry awards worldwide.
