The popular Tame Impala synth, Orchid, returns in a stunning clear design.
The Telepathic Instruments Orchid has been off the market for a few months, but a fresh batch is set to launch on May 11th for $649. To celebrate, the company is introducing a limited edition clear version called the Orchid: Arctic, priced at $699.
Designed in collaboration with Kevin Parker from Tame Impala, the Orchid takes cues from the chord organs that were a staple in homes during the ‘50s and ‘60s. This instrument allows musicians to effortlessly create rich chord progressions without needing extensive theoretical knowledge or complicated finger placements. Its unique appeal quickly garnered attention, making it a sought-after item.
Telepathic Instruments plans to keep the Orchid available for the foreseeable future, but the Arctic variant will be limited to just 3,000 units. Those on the waitlist will have priority access, so if you’ve been longing for that nostalgic transparent look, now’s the time to act.
Alongside the original Orchid and the Arctic edition, Telepathic Instruments is also launching Pistil, a plug-in version of the Orchid’s synth engine. For $99, Pistil provides access to the main features of the Orchid directly within your DAW and can also control the Orchid from your computer.
Correction May 5th: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the new batch of Orchids would be available on May 5th. They will be available to order on May 11th.
