The Witcher Unveils Thrilling Crossover with Popular Game Series

Aug. 25 was a thrilling day for fans of The Witcher 3, as Gamescom’s Opening Night Live unveiled a remaster of the legendary RPG, set to arrive before the eagerly awaited Songs of the Past DLC. The best news? It will be free for anyone who already owns The Witcher 3, allowing seasoned players to dive back into the story while enticing newcomers to experience the game for the first time. But that wasn’t all the excitement this Tuesday had in store.

CD Projekt Red announced a collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment, which includes a Geralt skin for Diablo 4, along with The Witcher 3 making its way to Blizzard’s Battle.net platform.

According to CD Projekt Red’s PR director, this partnership has been “three decades in the making,” highlighting the long-standing connection between the two companies. CD Projekt was the official distributor for Blizzard in Poland back in 1998, helping to introduce Blizzard’s games to the Polish market. Now, the tables have turned, with Blizzard bringing CD Projekt Red’s title to its platform. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is set to launch on Battle.net on Sept. 29, alongside its release on other platforms, and is currently available for preorder.

CD Projekt Red’s community and social media manager mentioned that this is merely the start of their partnership with Blizzard. While details about future collaborations remain scarce, we do know that Blizzard is working with CDPR to create a Diablo 4 skin inspired by Geralt of Rivia. Players who preorder Songs of the Past on Battle.net will receive this skin as a bonus.

The DLC is anticipated to launch in 2027, though an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. Once pre-orders are available, the Diablo 4 skin will also be accessible. Fortunately, it won’t be exclusive to pre-orders; anyone who buys Songs of the Past after its release will still be able to obtain the skin. The skin’s design has yet to be revealed, with the big reveal scheduled for BlizzCon 2026, taking place on Sept. 12–13 in Anaheim, California. Players should keep an eye on the event or follow social media for updates during those days.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is slated for release on Sept. 29, 2026, and will be available on Steam, GOG.com, Epic Games, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Switch 2, and Battle.net.
