This Baby Yoda Toy Priced at $600 Is Turning Heads

When Grogu, initially known as The Child and later dubbed Baby Yoda by fans, made his debut in the first season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, he quickly captured the hearts of viewers. Now, as fans eagerly await his first appearance on the big screen, they can get their hands on an interactive electronic version of Grogu for their homes. But hold on—this little guy is priced at a staggering $600?!

Today, Disney unveiled the Ultimate Grogu, a new interactive Baby Yoda that coincides with the marketing push for the upcoming Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu film, while also celebrating Star Wars Day on May the Fourth. This adorable green character is quite the talent! The Ultimate Grogu toy is touted by Disney and Hasbro as a “first-of-its-kind” animatronic figure, boasting over 250 “animations and sounds,” along with various modes and accessories. And yes, it does bear a striking resemblance to the puppet from the series, which is quite impressive.

“Our goal with Ultimate Grogu was to make fans feel like he’s truly part of their world,” said Adam Biehl, head of Disney action brands at Hasbro, in a press release. “Our design and development team spent hours studying how the character came to life in The Mandalorian series, striving to capture his personality and movements in a way that honors what Lucasfilm delivered in entertainment. Powered by our long-standing collaboration with Disney Consumer Products, we’re launching the most life-like, interactive, and expressive Grogu character Hasbro has ever created.”

And honestly, they nailed it. As a fan of Grogu and a die-hard Star Wars enthusiast, this should be right up my alley. However, with $600 not stretching as far as it used to in 2026, and with rising costs for games, computers, gas, and food, I’m hesitant to spend that much on an interactive Baby Yoda that might just end up gathering dust after a few days.

Ultimate Grogu is now available for pre-order through various channels. It will come in two variants: a standard version set to release in 2027 and a limited-time special edition with unique packaging arriving in 2026.
