This sleek camera features a see-through LCD screen for easy viewing.
Smartphones may have become impressive photography tools, but standalone point-and-shoot cameras are making a comeback. The compact Kodak Charmera remains a favorite, while influencers are on the hunt for vintage Canon models on eBay. Now, Godox, known primarily for its photography lighting gear, is entering the simple camera market with its new C100, which distinguishes itself by featuring a transparent LCD that serves as an optical viewfinder instead of a traditional color preview screen.
While the C100’s product page lacks detailed specs like sensor resolution and video capabilities, it highlights the viewfinder’s ability to display useful information such as battery life and shooting settings. Interestingly, the camera can also act as a light meter, gauging the brightness of your scene and suggesting exposure settings that can be applied to other cameras.
Weighing in at just 65 grams, the C100 can capture images and videos in four aspect ratios, including 16:9 and 1:1, with storage on a microSD card of up to 128GB. Although it lacks wireless connectivity, you can easily transfer your shots to a PC or mobile device via USB-C. Currently, the Godox C100 has launched in China, but there’s no word on whether it will be available internationally. Pricing details are also absent from its product page, but reports suggest the C100 is priced at just ¥199, or about $29, making it even more affordable than the Charmera.
