Tim Cain Makes His Comeback at Obsidian Entertainment

Tim Cain, the iconic developer who brought us the groundbreaking RPG _Fallout_ back in 1997, is stepping out of semi-retirement to rejoin Obsidian Entertainment as a full-time team member. In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Cain shared that he has relocated back to Southern California to dive into new projects at the studio.

Cain’s career in gaming is nothing short of legendary. He kicked things off with contributions to classic titles like _Stonekeep_ and _Star Trek: Starfleet Academy_ before making a significant impact with _Fallout_. His impressive resume also includes leading roles in _Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magic Obscura_, serving as a senior programmer on _Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines_, and co-directing the acclaimed _The Outer Worlds_. Throughout his journey, he has also contributed to _The Temple of Elemental Evil_, _South Park: The Stick of Truth_, and _Pillars of Eternity_.

In his video, Cain humorously downplays the significance of his return to Obsidian, first sharing a story about a squirrel that steals walnuts from him. Once that was out of the way, he confirmed that he is back at Obsidian full-time, having previously worked on _The Outer Worlds 2_ as a contractor.

While details about his current projects remain under wraps, the only known title in development is _Grounded 2_, leaving fans to speculate about potential new games. Many are hoping for a sequel to _Avowed_ or perhaps a new isometric _Pillars_ game, which aligns perfectly with Cain’s expertise.
