Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale and Deltarune, recently mentioned that Chapter 5 of Deltarune likely won’t drop in the first half of 2026. However, he reassured fans that development is progressing well, particularly with translations.

While the exact release date for Chapter 5 remains uncertain—Fox noted in December that it’s still “several months” away, following the release of Chapters 3 and 4 last year—he shared that the team is currently refining the Japanese translation.

“We’ll receive the first draft of the Japanese translation of Chapter 5 next week,” Fox stated, adding that they’ve been busy polishing the game and conducting preliminary internal bug testing on PC. He emphasized that comprehensive bug testing across all consoles will commence once the Japanese translation is finalized.

With the translation process moving along, fans are understandably eager for updates. The community has been buzzing with excitement, sharing edited screenshots of Fox’s post that humorously read “gay balls” and “Chapter 5 tomorrow.”
