Bethesda director Todd Howard is open to the Fallout TV series exploring new locations, including a recently hinted area in the United States for the ending of Fallout season 2.

“I think it’s good to go new places, even where the games haven’t been,” Howard shared.

The new location in question is Colorado, home to a mountainous Enclave facility and likely where Cooper Howard’s family is being held after their removal from cryo-pods in New Vegas.

Howard seems eager to use Fallout season 3 as a platform to introduce new characters, factions, and survival methods, expressing a desire to “develop that and explore: ‘Who are the people there? What are some new factions? What are they doing to survive?’ It’s the same approach we have with the games.”

Exciting developments are on the horizon in the Wasteland. Fans will recall that Colorado has appeared in the series before, notably in the non-canon Fallout: Tactics and as a potential setting in the original Black Isle version of Fallout 3, codenamed Van Buren.

While the Ghoul makes his way through the Rockies toward Colorado, much of the next season’s action will still be rooted in New Vegas. The New California Republic and Caesar’s Legion are on the brink of war, and the Fallout season 2 post-credits scene revealed a game-changer – the Brotherhood’s Liberty Prime Alpha. Imagine the Iron Giant, but armed with nukes, and you’re on the right track.
