Top Indie Game of the Year Surpasses 1 Million Sales in Under a Week

House House, the creators of the beloved 2019 title Untitled Goose Game, have struck gold once again with their latest release, Big Walk. This online, co-op-only puzzle game has already surpassed one million copies sold since its launch just last week.

On August 10, the studio announced the impressive milestone on social media, revealing that Big Walk achieved this remarkable feat in only six days. For comparison, their previous hit, Untitled Goose Game, took about three months to reach the same sales figure. Big Walk, however, has made waves in record time.

“In just six days, over one million of you have bought Big Walk, our co-op adventure all about talking and walking,” the studio expressed. “We are incredibly grateful that so many of you are enjoying our game. Your fanart, streams, stories, and moments mean the world to us. Thank you for playing.”

Not only is Big Walk flying off the virtual shelves, but it’s also receiving rave reviews from critics. The game, which allows 2 to 12 players to team up to explore an island and tackle puzzles, has become the highest-rated and best-reviewed game of 2026 according to Metacritic, outpacing major titles like Forza Horizon 6 and Resident Evil Requiem, as well as indie favorites like Mina The Hollower. Quite the achievement for a game centered around adorable little blorbs solving puzzles together.

“Everyone is busy, life is hard, and the world is falling apart,” noted a reviewer in their take on the game. “There is no better time to gather your friends, dedicate one night a week for about a month, and embark on a Big Walk together. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought us.” Big Walk is currently available on PS5, Switch 2, and PC.
