Trump Joins the Animal Crossing Craze with AI Creations

The White House and President Donald Trump are eager to showcase their affection for farmers. They genuinely care about the farming community. However, it’s hard to overlook the impact of his trade war with China during his previous term, which severely affected farmers, and his current tariffs and economic policies that continue to harm them. But let’s not dwell on that! Instead, check out this AI-generated Animal Crossing-inspired content.

On March 27, the official White House Twitter account shared a short AI-generated video featuring a digital version of President Trump proclaiming “Make Farming Great Again!” before dashing out of his office into a vibrant, Animal Crossing-like environment filled with charming animal villagers. The video wraps up with a logo that resembles a tweaked Animal Crossing logo, displaying the message “National Agriculture Week – Thank You, Farmers!”

A minute later, the White House account posted an image of Trump’s Animal Crossing-style avatar mingling with actual Animal Crossing characters. This image appears to be a modified version of official promotional art, now featuring Trump alongside that altered logo from the video, this time with the added phrase: “Make Farming Great Again!” It looks like the image was created using a mix of AI and Photoshop to blend and adjust various elements, including a farm backdrop.

These posts came after Trump hosted hundreds of farmers at the White House to celebrate the $12 billion in support his administration is providing. He conveniently omitted the fact that many farmers are facing difficulties due to his misguided trade wars and tariffs.

This isn’t the first instance of Trump’s team leveraging video games for online propaganda and marketing. We’ve seen them use music and imagery from franchises like Halo and Pokémon to garner support for ICE’s controversial actions against immigrants, even likening these individuals to parasites akin to the Flood from the Halo series. Earlier this month, the White House shared a video featuring a Call of Duty kill streak animation to commemorate its costly military actions in Iran, which was later removed.

On March 5, the Pokémon Company officially responded after Trump utilized a Pokémon meme to promote his “Make America Great Again” slogan.

“We are aware of recent social content that includes imagery associated with our brand,” a spokesperson for the Pokémon Company stated. “We were not involved in its creation or distribution, and no permission was granted for the use of our intellectual property. Our mission is to bring the world together, and that mission is not affiliated with any political viewpoint or agenda.” The company had previously issued a similar statement in September 2024 regarding a DHS video featuring the Pokémon theme song.

In an October 2025 interview, Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto described the post as “absolutely abhorrent,” expressing his dismay at seeing Halo co-opted in such a manner.
