Trump Mobile Makes Initial Contact, Then Goes Silent
Where’s the Trump phone? This mystery is going to be a weekly topic for us. We’ve reached out again to inquire about its status, and as expected, we’re still waiting for a response. However, I did manage to get a reply from someone on the inside.
After months of sending emails to various official Trump Mobile accounts, I finally heard back last week. Don Hendrickson, an executive at the company, responded to one of my messages and expressed interest in discussing things further, but since then, he’s gone silent.
Recently, I reported on the surprising news that Trump Mobile is developing a second device, the more powerful T1 Ultra. This tidbit came from an old interview Hendrickson had with a publication that had been overlooked.
Hendrickson isn’t a new name in this story. He was one of three executives introduced by Don Jr. and Eric Trump during a press conference at Trump Tower in June 2025 to announce the company. The Trumps claimed that these three brought an impressive, albeit questionable, “hundreds of years” of combined experience in the mobile industry.
Pinning down Hendrickson’s specific experience is a bit tricky. At the launch event, he was said to have been in the mobile industry since the pager days, but his actual background is hard to track down. I found a LinkedIn profile that might belong to him, but it’s mostly empty, and there are no other public social media profiles or websites linked to him.
As for his current role at Trump Mobile, reports indicate he’s the head of mobile operations, while another source lists him as the company’s president. In his interview, he claimed to have conceived the idea for the company and sought out the Trumps to bring it to life.
I did uncover a lead: a directory site lists him as the executive vice president of sales at Liberty Mobile Wireless. This connection makes sense, as Liberty Mobile appears to be the backbone of Trump Mobile — the Trump network’s terms of service state it is “powered by Liberty Mobile Wireless LLC.”
This gave me a way in. The same directory listed a Liberty Mobile email address, so I took a shot and reached out to ask if he could confirm details from his November interview and share more about the T1 Ultra. Given my previous attempts to contact Trump Mobile, I didn’t expect a response (I’ve sent 12 emails to their official press line over five months without a single reply).
Imagine my surprise when, less than two hours later, I received a response:
> Dominic,
> It’s a pleasure to meet you via this email and yes, I would like to talk to you about Trump Mobile and the T1 handset that we are going to be bringing to market. I think it’s about time we let our voice be heard.
> Thanks,
> Don
That was over a week ago, and those are the only words I’ve received from anyone officially connected to Trump Mobile. I’ve sent Don three follow-up emails since then — definitely breaking all the rules of how to handle being ghosted — but I’ve been ignored each time. It’s frustrating to have come so close to a real conversation with someone who might have answers, only to have it slip away.
I’m left wondering if Hendrickson still wants to talk, or if he believes it’s time for Trump Mobile to make its voice heard. I’ve also tried reaching out to Pat O’Brien and Eric Thomas, but haven’t heard back from either. I can’t help but wonder why Hendrickson suddenly went quiet — did he get spooked, or was he advised to stop communicating with journalists?
At least now I have a Trump Mobile email address that I know someone is checking, so I can keep trying.
