“Trump TV: A YouTube Channel Featuring President’s Reruns”
The White House has launched a YouTube livestream featuring reruns of President Donald Trump’s speeches, bill signings, and other notable moments, dubbed “Trump TV.” This 24/7 channel debuted shortly after Trump imposed a ban on CNN, MS Now, and Politico from accessing the White House.
Kaelan Dorr, the White House’s digital strategy lead, announced that the administration will showcase Trump’s “greatest hits, unfiltered” on the platform. Dorr stated that the media has often misrepresented or overlooked the administration’s numerous record-breaking achievements for the American people. The White House also shared a promotional clip for the channel that included snippets from popular shows like The Office, Seinfeld, and Family Guy.
The launch of the livestream faced swift backlash, with Governor Gavin Newsom labeling it as “state-run TV.” In response to the ban, CNN, MS Now, and Politico filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, arguing that it undermines press freedom and the public’s right to independent journalism without government interference.
According to reports, CNN was scheduled to film for the press pool on Monday, but no other network stepped in to support them. ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC later issued a joint statement denouncing the White House’s decision to exclude a news organization simply because the administration disagreed with its reporting.
