Ubisoft Offers Compensation to Rainbow Six Siege Players Affected by Hack

The holiday season turned out to be quite challenging for players of Rainbow Six Siege. After a significant hack flooded the community with billions of credits, Ubisoft had to take down the marketplace and revert player accounts. While the fixes are still being implemented, Ubisoft is stepping up to offer compensation to its players. They announced on social media that anyone who logs into Rainbow Six Siege between January 16-25 will receive the following rewards:

– 4x battle pass XP
– Ten battle pass levels
– Missed daily rewards (including Delta Pack, Alpha Pack, and an Auric Mold skin for the P-10C)

Ubisoft’s update indicated that account rollbacks are ongoing, and the marketplace will not be reinstated until a later date in Year 11. Players can expect updates on the marketplace status, account rollbacks, and compensation.

The most frequent response to this announcement on social media was inquiries about the restoration of the voice chat feature. Ubisoft confirmed that “Voice chat continues to be a key priority for the team moving forward.” Earlier this year, a separate hack led to indiscriminate bans for players lasting 67 days, referencing the 6-7 meme. Last year, the transition to Siege X successfully brought many players back to the game, even a decade after its initial release. Creative director Alexander Karpazis mentioned that there’s currently no pressing need for Ubisoft to develop Rainbow Six Siege 2. Meanwhile, former creative director Xavier Marquis has returned to Ubisoft, but he’s not rejoining the franchise; instead, he’s working on a new 4v4 tactical multiplayer free-to-play game titled March of Giants.
