Unannounced Co-Op Murder Mystery Game Gains Massive Buzz
It’s still early days, but I’m ready to declare that indie developer Dwarven Brothers might just have the most memorable game title of 2026 with their upcoming co-op stealth game, We Are So Cooked. The premise is straightforward: sneak out of a location with a dead body without being spotted. The twist? You’ll need to work closely with your friends, and the game’s physics are hilariously unpredictable. Think of it as Hitman meets QWOP.
In this game, each player can grab one limb to help carry the body, but if you don’t coordinate your movements, you’ll end up dropping it. The body itself is a troublesome companion, reacting to the environment in ways that can lead to chaos. Expect it to get caught on laundry carts or knock over vases if you’re not careful. As the game’s description puts it, “Every step is a potential disaster.”
As you navigate through the hotel, you’ll encounter bystanders, guards, and security cameras that can expose your plans. Civilians will scream if they spot the body, drawing the attention of guards, some of whom may have dogs that can sniff out your hidden cargo. Stealth is key, and you’ll need to be mindful of the noise you make while sneaking around.
The hotel setting offers various tools to aid your escape. You can use a mop to clean up blood trails or aim a laser at a camera to obscure its view. However, you can’t move the body while using a tool, adding another layer of challenge.
This indie PC title, which some are dubbing a “friendslop game,” is still in the early stages of development and doesn’t have a release date yet. However, the clever mechanics of We Are So Cooked are already shining through, even in its rough state. The game has garnered attention, with a Steam listing that has caught the eye of many, including those who don’t typically play games. Clips of WASC are racking up millions of views, and the buzz has even reached Geoff Keighley.
What’s particularly remarkable is that We Are So Cooked doesn’t even have an official trailer yet, nor is it featured on the Dwarven Brothers’ website at this time. The developers didn’t expect this level of attention so soon. “Our game is going viral even without announcing it,” the Dwarven Brothers shared.
