Unexpected Conjuring Film Set to Debut on Netflix Next Month
Netflix has revealed that the next installment in the ever-growing Conjuring Universe is titled The Conjuring: Unspoken. Slated for release on the streaming service this October, this entry is set to break new ground as the franchise’s first dedicated video game.
The announcement came through the monthly New on Netflix newsletter, which provided a brief synopsis of Unspoken:
What is haunting the Red Lion Inn? Scan for paranormal signals and investigate the eerie events troubling a grieving family in this cinematic game.
While details are sparse, the premise certainly aligns with what fans might expect from a Conjuring game.
This marks the first standalone game in the series, although Fortnite previously featured a map inspired by The Conjuring: Last Rites ahead of its release last year. In that experience, players explored a haunted house filled with some of the franchise’s iconic supernatural beings from a first-person perspective. Much of that gameplay seems to resonate with the description of Unspoken, but without any official screenshots or gameplay footage, it’s tough to gauge how the game will actually play. As part of Netflix Games, it will be available on both Android and iOS devices.
With limited information about Unspoken currently available, pinpointing its place in the Conjuring timeline is challenging. However, it seems likely that the game will feature an original story and may not focus on the series’ main characters, Ed and Lorraine Warren. Typically, spinoff titles in the series don’t carry the Conjuring name, leaving open the possibility for familiar faces to make an appearance.
In addition to Unspoken, there’s more Conjuring content on the horizon for fans. The next film has been announced as The Conjuring: First Communion, set to hit theaters on September 10, 2027. Initially, it was thought that Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga’s Ed and Lorraine Warren would conclude their story in Last Rites, but it has since been clarified that this film marks the end of “Phase One” for the universe, with the upcoming film kicking off the second phase.
