The quirky old-school RPG Dread Delusion, which I affectionately refer to as Morrowind-esque due to its whimsical mushroom trees, is set to launch on nearly all modern consoles.

Having first appeared on Steam nearly two years ago, Dread Delusion has garnered close to 4,000 user reviews, with 90% rating it positively, resulting in an average ‘Very Positive’ score.

One review captures its essence: “This game invites exploration, encourages getting lost, and challenges you with morally ambiguous choices. Your decisions lead to real consequences that shape the game experience. The more you engage, the more it lingers in your thoughts. I hesitate to compare, but it does evoke the feeling of playing Morrowind for the first time.”

Dread Delusion is slated for release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2026. Pricing details for the console version are still under wraps, but you can add it to your wishlist on the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store.

“The world is broken,” the Steam description states. “Its surface is plagued by an undead curse, while humanity clings to floating continents above. From mushroom forests to eerie mausoleums, bizarre locations and characters await. Will you strive to heal this world, or will you pursue power and profit for yourself?”
