Unlocking Security Breach Lockers in Arc Raiders: A Guide
Arc Raiders revolves around looting and shooting your way across the map, all while trying to make it back to Speranza in one piece. Every second matters, and each container could hold that crucial item that makes the entire run worthwhile. So, it’s understandable to feel let down when you encounter a Security Breach locker that you can’t open. Who knows what treasures could be waiting inside? To get those lockers open, you’ll need to invest some time. Here’s how to unlock Security Breach lockers in Arc Raiders.
To access any Security Breach lockers you find, you first need to acquire the Security Breach skill from the skill tree. You can find the skill tree by navigating to Raider > Skill Tree while in Speranza. The Security Breach skill is located in the Survival path of the skill tree.
This skill is the final node on the right side of the Survival (red) path. To unlock it, you’ll need to invest at least 36 points into the Survival path, which is quite a commitment. We’ll discuss whether this investment is worthwhile shortly. Once you have the Security Breach skill, you can breach and search any Security Breach locker.
After purchasing the Security Breach skill—likely with your 37th skill point in the Survival path—you’ll be able to access any Security Breach locker in the game. You can also search lockers that other players have already opened, although they probably didn’t leave much behind.
Is the Security Breach skill worth it? Initially, this skill was incredibly valuable, as Security Breach lockers frequently contained purple weapons like Bobcats, Tempests, and Vulcanos. However, the developers nerfed this skill shortly after launch, reducing the drop rate of these items. This raises the question of whether it’s still worth investing 37 points into the Survival path. Despite the nerf, Security Breach lockers still often yield valuable loot.
We believe it’s still a solid investment to acquire the Security Breach skill. While the frequency of purple rarity weapons has decreased, it remains an excellent way to gather fast and high-quality resources while looting. These lockers typically provide a green or blue weapon, some ammo, and a good chance at gun parts or Mod Components. Plus, there’s always the possibility of finding one of those elusive purple guns, so it’s worth checking. Additionally, the Survival path offers many useful skills that enhance looting speed, improve weight limits, and even enable in-game crafting. With that in mind, you’re not really wasting skill points on your way to unlocking Security Breach.
