Upcoming Departures: The Witcher 3 and Other Must-Play Titles Leaving Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass users were treated to the RPG adventure of *Beast of Reincarnation* earlier this month, and next week, the highly anticipated *Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy* will join the lineup. However, as *Resonance* makes its debut, several beloved titles will be leaving the service. Notably, *The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt* will no longer be available on Xbox Game Pass after August 31.
*The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt* catapulted Geralt and the entire franchise into the spotlight back in 2015. With over 65 million copies sold, it’s celebrated as one of the greatest RPGs ever made. The game follows Geralt on a quest to find his adoptive daughter, Ciri, who is being pursued across The Continent by the enigmatic and perilous Wild Hunt. Like many open-world RPGs, the joy lies not just in the main storyline but also in the vast world filled with side quests and activities, including the popular card game Gwent. If you were planning to dive back into this epic before the upcoming *Songs of the Past* expansion, you’ll need to act fast, as you only have two weeks left.
Here’s the list of titles leaving Xbox Game Pass after August 31:
“It’s been such a great journey,” remarked voice actor Doug Cockle.
*Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy* will be available on day one through Xbox Game Pass, leading a modest selection of new arrivals. This prequel shifts away from the stealth mechanics of its predecessors, offering a more action-oriented experience where players can expect to parry, stab, and slice through numerous foes.
*Resonance* lands on Xbox Game Pass on August 27. Here’s what else is coming throughout the rest of the month:
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that lets players stream a mix of new and classic games across Xbox, PC, and handheld devices. PC gamers without an Xbox console can opt for the PC-only plan at $13.99 a month, which includes over 300 games.
