Upcoming Lego Game to Offer a Unique Twist on Cities: Skylines

A recent rating from the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea hints that Lego and Paradox Interactive are collaborating on a Lego-themed version of Cities: Skylines. This unannounced title was discovered in a new set of ratings, which also included Persona 4: Revival and a Nintendo Switch 2 port for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. While the name Lego Skylines doesn’t explicitly include “Cities,” the involvement of Paradox makes it clear that it draws inspiration from Cities: Skylines.

The rating doesn’t provide any details about the game or its release timeline, but the fact that it has received certification from international ratings boards confirms its existence. Although Paradox is mentioned in the certification, it remains unclear which studio is developing Lego Skylines.

Colossal Order, the team behind Cities: Skylines and its sequel, has not disclosed its current project. Cities: Skylines 2 launched in 2023 but faced numerous issues, including a bizarre rendering problem that attempted to create individual teeth for every citizen, significantly increasing the processing load. The city builder has been plagued by various bugs, and nearly three years post-launch, the promised console version is still in development.

In December 2025, Paradox reassigned Colossal Order to a different, unspecified project and brought in Iceflake, known for the survival simulator Surviving the Aftermath, to take over Skylines 2. While complaints about bugs and erratic AI continue to surface on the game’s subreddit, there are signs that Iceflake is steering the game in a more positive direction.

Lego has been broadening its gaming portfolio over the past few years. Instead of just licensing well-known franchises like Star Wars and Batman for platformer-adventures, the company has ventured into survival games with Lego Fortnite and even adapted Guerrilla Games’ Horizon series into Lego form with Lego Horizon Adventure. The recent Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight also broke from tradition, moving away from the familiar level-based structure of older Lego games to embrace an open world with a stronger focus on gadgets and action.

Additionally, Lego has a well-established and beloved City series of sets, making a SimCity/Skylines-inspired take on this popular sub-brand seem quite plausible.

While there’s no indication of when Paradox might unveil Lego Skylines, the upcoming summer showcase season, including Summer Game Fest 2026 in less than two weeks, could provide more information soon.
