Upcoming Spider-Man spinoff will connect the thrilling conclusion of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man with its second season.

The finale of the animated series featuring your favorite web-slinger was nothing short of a spectacular ride, packed with jaw-dropping twists involving time loops, paradoxes, and even a cameo from Doctor Strange. While the specifics of season 2 remain under wraps, showrunner Jeff Trammell has confirmed that a time skip will occur, giving fans a chance to see a more self-assured Peter Parker back in action.

For those concerned about missing out on the fallout from the intense first-season finale, there’s good news. A new comic spinoff series is set to fill in the gaps between seasons.

Here’s what to expect from the upcoming comic series:

Peter Parker is geared up to save the day, but things aren’t all sunshine and rainbows. He’s been feeling distant from his friends, and while Norman Osborn may have stepped back from the spider scene, Harry isn’t convinced the story is over. Mysterious happenings at Oscorp have Spidey and his crew on high alert!

This four-issue comic series, also titled Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (let’s hope that doesn’t cause any confusion), will be penned by Christos Gage with artwork by Eric Gapstur. Both creators previously collaborated on the prequel comic, which explored Peter’s early days of discovering his powers and tackling the challenges of freshman year. The new series will also feature cover art by Leonardo Romero and Luciano Vecchio.

Gage and Gapstur are back together to set the stage for the eagerly awaited second season of the animated series, diving into the mysteries of Oscorp and introducing classic Spider-Man allies and villains.

“I’m thrilled to return to the world of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!” Gage expressed. “Just like before, Jeff Trammell has been fantastic in ensuring our story fits seamlessly into the show’s continuity.”

“Best of all, Eric Gapstur is back on art, and he’s really stepped up his game,” Gage added. “You’re going to love his take on Spidey, Daredevil, and the iconic villains making their first appearances here… whoops, spoiler alert! It’s a joy to be part of this version of Spidey that blends the classic Silver Age vibe with fresh and exciting characters and scenarios. I can’t wait to do it again next year!”

Mark your calendars for the first issue of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, hitting shelves on Dec. 9. Be sure to pre-order at your local comic shop!
