Upcoming Video Game Releases for 2026
When the announcement came that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be pushed back to 2026, it likely brought a sigh of relief to publishers with titles lined up for late 2025. However, 2026 is already gearing up to be a thrilling and packed year for major game releases, even without GTA 6, which is now set for a November debut.
Alongside Rockstar’s highly anticipated crime saga, gamers can look forward to Playground Games’ long-awaited Fable, Bungie’s return to Marathon, a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, and three major titles from Capcom: Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Housemarque is also set to deliver a follow-up to Returnal called Saros, while FromSoftware brings us The Duskbloods. Nintendo fans can rejoice with two new entries in beloved franchises: Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Marvel is also making waves with a new fighting game, a WWII title featuring Captain America and Black Panther, and the much-anticipated Wolverine from Insomniac Games.
In addition to sequels, there are a host of exciting original games on the horizon, including the RPG SacriFire, Warren Spector’s stealth-action PvPvE game Thick As Thieves, and the indie title Moonlight Peaks, which offers a unique twist on the Animal Crossing formula with a vampire theme. Plus, we can expect new gaming hardware, including Valve’s 2026 Steam Machines and updated Steam Controllers. And let’s not forget the quirky frog games that are sure to make a splash.
As always, game release dates can shift, so keep an eye out for updates on the latest titles, release schedules, and any (inevitable) delays.
