Vampire: The Masquerade is set to receive a new game inspired by Disco Elysium.

Vampire: The Masquerade is set to receive an exciting new CRPG with Vampire: The Masquerade – Eternal Whispers. This project, inspired by Disco Elysium, marks the first video game from Flyos, the studio behind Vampire: The Masquerade — Chapters.

Unveiled during the recent PC Gaming Show stream, this game presents an original narrative within the Vampire: The Masquerade universe, incorporating elements from Chapters and featuring iconic characters from the franchise. It’s designed as a choice-driven, “fail-forward” RPG that clearly showcases its Disco Elysium influences.

Taking place 20 years after the Montreal by Night expansion, the story follows a Kindred named Gabe, who players can customize through a character creator. After awakening from a long slumber with no memory of their sire, Gabe encounters a Thin-blood named Sam. Together, they embark on a quest to unravel a series of mysteries in a shadowy version of Montreal.

The gameplay focuses heavily on dialogue and investigation, steering clear of traditional combat mechanics. Instead, players engage in dice-driven skill checks to navigate conversations. These checks are influenced by a character sheet featuring 15 upgradable skills categorized into Social, Mental, and Physical attributes. Additionally, inventory items and consumables can affect the outcomes of these checks. Flyos emphasizes that there is no single correct path, allowing player choices to significantly impact the narrative.

Flyos openly acknowledges its inspiration from Disco Elysium, evident in Eternal Whispers’ visual presentation. The game adopts a similar top-down art style, with dialogue displayed on the right side of the screen. However, it distinguishes itself with a mission-based structure, where each investigation lasts between 90 minutes and two hours. Between missions, players return to a hub safe house that includes a library that Gabe must manage.

Development for Vampire: The Masquerade – Eternal Whispers began in 2023, but an official release date has yet to be announced.

More details about a new Vampire: The Masquerade project will be revealed at Gen Con 2026.
