“Voice Actor Calls Prince of Persia Remake Cancellation ‘Devastating’ After Three Years of Dedication”

Voice actor Eman Ayaz has been part of the cast for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake for the past three years, but she found out about the game’s cancellation just like everyone else: online.

“I experienced the most devastating moment of my career,” Ayaz shares in a candid YouTube video, discussing her experience while adhering to her NDA. Although she doesn’t mention The Sands of Time remake directly, she has engaged with tweets that refer to her as the princess Farah.

“My brother reached out to me on WhatsApp and asked if I was OK,” she recalls. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I be?’ Then he sent me a link to an article, and that’s how I learned it had been shelved indefinitely.”

“Just last month,” Ayaz continues, “I filmed marketing for this project. Everything was going smoothly, and that was the last I heard.”

Ayaz expresses her deep commitment to Prince of Persia, stating, “I turned down other opportunities during this time. I even broke my foot but still showed up to work and performed because it meant so much to me. I pushed myself beyond my limits and discovered things I didn’t know I was capable of through this character.”

Since the remake’s cancellation, Ayaz mentions she “can’t publicly attach my name to it,” but emphasizes that “it brought out what I truly believe is the best performance of my career.”

“Don’t assume that because something was shelved, it didn’t matter,” she concludes.

In related news, Ubisoft has informed an outlet about a potential “voluntary mutual termination agreement” that could affect up to 200 jobs at its headquarters.

“At this stage, this remains a proposal, and no decision will be final until a collective agreement is reached with employee representatives and validated by French authorities,” the company states.

After six years of anticipation, multiple delays, and a complete reboot, developers have commented on the cancellation of the Prince of Persia remake, acknowledging, “We know this is deeply disappointing.”
