Wallace & Gromit Transitions from Fan-Made to Official Lego Set Release

The latest Lego Ideas set has just launched on the official Lego store, and fans of cheese and crackers are in for a treat. The 1,038-piece Wallace & Gromit set is now available for pre-order. Inspired by the duo’s appearance in the 1995 classic Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave, this set features the iconic motorbike with its sidecar.

Both Wallace and Gromit are fully poseable, complete with jointed arms and Gromit’s movable ear flaps. The set is packed with Easter eggs that nod to other films, including Wallace’s crackers (a tribute to A Grand Day Out), a diamond (from The Wrong Trousers), and a yarn ball (from A Close Shave). For those who might need a refresher, A Close Shave follows Wallace and Gromit as they uncover a livestock-theft scheme and encounter Shaun the Sheep, all while riding their red motorcycle. The set is priced at $99.99 and is set to ship on October 1, 2026.

Lego Ideas competitions invite fans to create their own builds based on specific themes, with the grand prize winner seeing their design transformed into an official Lego set. The creator receives 1% of the total net sales, 10 free copies of the set, and credit on official materials.

This Wallace & Gromit Lego set is based on the grand prize entry from the Lego Ideas ‘90s Throwback – The Next Chapter competition, which took place on February 7, 2025. The competition encouraged submissions related to iconic shows and movies from the ’90s. The main runner-up was a Mr. Bean-themed set, while other popular entries included themes from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Forrest Gump, and The Mighty Ducks.

In related news, Aardman Animations, the producer behind Wallace & Gromit, recently unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming project, Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu. This new venture appears to draw inspiration from the classic novel Don Quixote and is set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2027. Additionally, Aardman has scheduled Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom for release on September 18, 2026.
