What to Expect from Battlefield 6 in 2026
As the studio gears up for the holiday break, the team behind Battlefield 6 has shared some exciting details about what players can look forward to in the multiplayer and Redsec battle royale modes in 2026. In a recent social media update, the developers emphasized their commitment to “refine core gameplay, balance, and quality-of-life improvements across multiplayer, Redsec, and Portal.”
Players can expect new maps and weapons as part of the seasonal content rollout, designed to “introduce fresh tactical opportunities and keep the experience evolving in meaningful ways.” While specifics are still under wraps, Season 1 saw the addition of three multiplayer maps, new vehicles, several weapons, and extra attachments, all released in three phases. It’s likely that future seasons will adopt a similar structure.
The developers also addressed the highly requested solo playlist for the free-to-play Redsec battle royale mode. They acknowledged the community’s interest and are actively working on a solution that meets the quality standards expected from Battlefield. “We are working through the technical details to deliver it at a quality level that feels right for Battlefield,” they stated. “Once we are confident in the plan and timing, we will share more.”
Additionally, the post highlighted some impressive statistics for Battlefield 6 in 2025, with players across multiplayer and Redsec logging over 1.7 billion matches and 383.5 million gameplay hours. This extensive playtime resulted in 12.4 billion kills and 871 million revives. The Engineer class was the most popular, accounting for 28% of players, closely followed by Support at 27%, Assault at 26%, and Recon at 19%.
Recently, Battlefield 6 launched Winter Offensive, the final update for Season 1. Despite a rocky start, the studio responded with a series of hotfixes and updates across all platforms. Notably, Battlefield 6 has emerged as the best-selling game in the US for 2025, surpassing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which currently ranks at No. 7.
