Witcher Multiplayer Project Faces Additional Job Cuts
The upcoming multiplayer title set in The Witcher universe, known as Project Sirius, has seen another reduction in its development team.
Reports indicate that nine team members were let go today, with an additional nine transitioning to other projects within the studio as part of a broader shift in development strategy.
Project Sirius has faced challenges throughout its development. Initially announced in 2022 by The Molasses Flood, a studio acquired by CDPR, details about the game remain sparse, aside from its focus on both single-player and cooperative multiplayer experiences. The project underwent a reboot in 2023, which resulted in the layoff of 29 developers at that time. Although there has been little communication from the studio since then, it appears that the project has been progressing positively following some adjustments made earlier this spring. Recently, a notable writer from Destiny 2, Kwan Perng, was brought on board as a lead writer for the project.
Inquiries have been made to CDPR for further information.
