Wyze redesigns smart scale with a handle-mounted display for better visibility.
Wyze has unveiled an upgraded version of its Ultra BodyScan smart scale, which first hit the market nearly a year ago. This new model features additional electrodes on a retractable handle, enabling it to deliver a comprehensive analysis of health metrics across your arms, legs, and torso. The Ultra BodyScan Plus comes with a redesigned 4.3-inch customizable color screen now positioned on the handle, making it easier to view measurements at eye level.
Available today for $149 in black or white, the Wyze Scale Ultra BodyScan Plus is priced about $30 higher than the previous model, which retailed for $119.98. However, the repositioned screen is just one of the enhancements. While last year’s version tracked 13 body composition metrics—including weight, BMI, bone mass, body water percentage, and muscle weight—the Plus model expands this to over 50 metrics. These include visceral fat, protein levels, and basal metabolic rate, which indicates the minimum calories your body requires daily. Utilizing bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), it offers detailed insights into these metrics across your body.
In contrast to competitors, Wyze’s Ultra BodyScan Plus does not require any monthly or annual fees to access its features. It can sync health data with Apple Health, Google Health, and Android’s Health Connect via Bluetooth from a nearby smartphone or directly through your home Wi-Fi network.
The scale can accommodate health metrics for up to eight registered users while allowing an unlimited number of guests to take one-off measurements. Additionally, it includes a mode for weighing children, pets, and luggage while being held, though this mode does not provide the advanced health metrics breakdown.
