Xbox Game Pass Makes a Strong Return with Exciting New Titles in Its First Month of New Pricing

Last month, Xbox revealed a price drop for its top-tier Game Pass subscription. Game Pass Ultimate is now available for $22.99 a month, down from $29.99, although it remains higher than the $19.99 price point it held before October of last year. Despite the reduced cost, the game library is not taking a hit. In fact, the first wave of additions for May 2026 is packed with exciting new titles, including a major AAA release and several must-play indie games launching on day one.

The next installment in the beloved racing franchise, Forza Horizon 6, is set to take players on an open-world adventure in Japan. This entry aims for a more grounded experience compared to its predecessors, based on early gameplay impressions. However, it still promises some thrilling elements, such as the potential inclusion of a full-sized Gundam for anime enthusiasts, and fans have already spotted Mt. Akina from Initial D on the map. Forza Horizon 6 will boast over 550 cars and various racing modes, including a campaign, Time Attack Circuits, and Drag Meets, launching on May 19.

While Forza is undoubtedly the highlight of this month’s Game Pass offerings, indie game fans have plenty to look forward to as well. Mixtape is a nostalgia-driven narrative game centered around three high school friends on their final night together. Call of the Elder Gods invites players to delve into a Lovecraftian mystery, while Outbound allows you to transform a camper van into a cozy, customizable home on wheels. Subnautica 2 returns players to an underwater alien world, this time with the option to explore in co-op mode with friends. All four of these titles will be available as day-one additions to Game Pass.
