Xbox Game Pass Members Can Play One of 2025’s Top Sports Games for Free This Weekend

Free Play Days for Xbox Game Pass subscribers are back this weekend! From January 15 through January 18, EA Sports FC 26 will be available for free to Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members.

To promote the free weekend, Xbox even enlisted former German football star Toni Kroos for a special announcement video.

The latest installment in EA’s iconic soccer franchise, EA Sports FC 26, features a roster packed with your favorite players and teams. With over 20,000 licensed athletes from more than 750 national teams and local clubs across 35 leagues, there’s plenty of action to dive into. You can showcase your skills in Football Ultimate Team, where you’ll engage in Live Events, Tournaments, and more. Plus, Player Archetypes inspired by legendary players will let you craft new classes for your custom character in Career mode, helping you become a top contender on the pitch.

Since its launch in September 2025, EA Sports FC 26 has garnered generally favorable reviews, boasting a 77 Metascore on Metacritic. However, it has faced criticism from players, reflected in a user score of 2.9, primarily due to issues with bugs and the presence of microtransactions, a longstanding concern in sports gaming.

If you’re interested in trying it out, EA Sports FC 26 will be accessible on Xbox Game Pass from January 15 to January 18.
