Xbox Users Can Now Turn Off Quick Resume for Individual Titles

Microsoft has rolled out a fresh update for the Xbox that introduces several exciting features, including the option to disable Quick Resume for specific games. Quick Resume is a standout feature of the Xbox Series X/S, allowing players to switch between games with minimal loading times. However, it can sometimes cause issues with multiplayer titles or games that need a stable internet connection. Microsoft acknowledges this, stating, “We’ve heard your feedback around performance after long periods of inactivity or with games that rely heavily on online connections.”

In addition to the Quick Resume adjustments, the latest update allows users to create up to ten groups on their Home screen, a significant increase from the previous limit of two. Players can also customize UI colors and easily track their play history. On the PC front, gamepad users can now utilize their controllers as a mouse and pin up to three games to the “Jump back in” and “Most Recent” lists. Furthermore, Microsoft is beginning to test its DLSS alternative, Auto SR, on the Xbox Ally X handheld.

Asha Sharma, the new head of Xbox, has been advocating for the development of highly requested features like the ability to disable Quick Resume and the introduction of custom colors. Additionally, she has implemented a price reduction for Game Pass and moved away from the Microsoft Gaming branding in favor of a more unified Xbox identity.
