Xreal’s Neo: The Most Stylish Mobile Dock for AR Glasses

When the Nintendo Switch 2 debuted in June, Viture made waves with its multi-port battery pack that also serves as a portable video dock for the console, getting ahead of Xreal. After a few months, Xreal responded with the Neo, a sleek 10,000mAh (38.7Wh) battery pack featuring DisplayPort Alt video-out. This stylish battery is compatible with Xreal’s glasses, including the older Air series and the newly released $449 Xreal 1S. I’ve even managed to get Viture’s Luma Pro glasses working with it.

The $99 Neo is now available and showcased at CES 2026. Whether it’s worth the investment depends on how often you use your Xreal glasses for gaming or entertainment on the go. Xreal glasses users have already been able to connect directly to devices like Valve’s Steam Deck or the Asus ROG Ally for video and audio via USB-C. Beyond the Nintendo ecosystem, the Neo primarily serves to keep your device charged while you game. It supports gameplay at up to 1200p (depending on the glasses’ resolution) and 120Hz, while the Switch 2 can reach 1080p at 120Hz through the Neo.

This battery isn’t the fastest charger out there, but it does outperform Viture’s dock. The Neo can output up to 20W, which is sufficient for phones and tablets, as well as the Switch 2, though it may not charge some handhelds and laptops quickly. However, if you’re using the Neo for entertainment while charging it with a 65W or higher wall adapter, the output speed increases to 45W.

Xreal’s battery dock features a magnetized ring for easy attachment to MagSafe-equipped iPhones and includes a kickstand for propping it up. The Neo comes with a short built-in USB-C cable for connecting to your video source, alongside a USB-C port for your AR glasses and another USB-C charging port on the opposite side.

It would have been great to see an HDMI port on the Neo, as Viture’s Pro Mobile Dock includes one, allowing connections to various gadgets like game consoles and streaming devices. A slightly larger size for increased battery capacity would have also been welcome. Nonetheless, the Neo is a solid option for those who enjoy gaming and entertainment while on the move.
