Young Prodigy Dominates Girl Scout Cookie Sales, Selling Over 100,000 Boxes and Crashing the Leaderboard
It’s that exciting time of year when countless young girls dive into the world of entrepreneurship—Girl Scout cookie season! While selling cookies can be tough, one 6-year-old has turned it into a record-breaking achievement, thanks to some savvy social media strategies and a bit of algorithm magic.
Meet Pim Neill, a Daisy Scout from Pittsburgh. This past Sunday, she shattered the national record by selling an incredible 100,000 boxes of cookies in a single season. Embracing the digital age, Pim and her family utilized social media to promote her cookie sales, leading to phenomenal success.
“Hi, my name is Pim. Do you wanna buy some Girl Scout cookies?” she cheerfully asks in a TikTok video, showcasing a box of Thin Mints. Sporting blue glasses that match her Girl Scout vest, she wraps up the clip with a heartfelt, “Thank you.” The video has racked up over five million views.
While her impressive online success is noteworthy, Pim hasn’t neglected the classic approach of going door-to-door in her neighborhood.
“Pim wanted to join the Girl Scouts because when she was 3, she saw the girls selling cookies,” said her dad, Luke Anorak-Neill. “This whole journey began when she observed girls doing what many think is the primary activity of Girl Scouts—selling cookies.”
Initially, Anorak-Neill faced challenges finding a troop for Pim. “Our first troop, unfortunately, told us that Pim’s disabilities would hold the troop back, and they didn’t want her to join,” he recalled. “That was really disappointing, but I thought she shouldn’t be judged based on that.”
Pim was also turned away from another troop for being too young. However, her family eventually found the perfect fit: a kindergarten-only troop where she now proudly participates as a Daisy Scout alongside 10 other girls. She kicked off her record-setting cookie campaign at the beginning of January. “We’ve had so much support from Girl Scouts throughout this process,” Anorak-Neill shared. “We’re thrilled to be inspiring so many more girls.”
Pim’s favorite cookies are Thin Mints, but she’s also developed a taste for Samoas. You can grab Thin Mints, Samoas, and more from Pim’s digital storefront until March 22.
