Your Guide to Catching Blizzard’s Overwatch Spotlight Event
Blizzard is gearing up for an exciting Overwatch Spotlight event to showcase the upcoming changes in Overwatch 2 set for 2026. This event kicks off on February 4 at 10 a.m. PST, streaming live on Twitch and YouTube.
For those tuning in from different time zones, here’s how it translates globally.
Additionally, Blizzard is offering a set of Twitch drops, allowing viewers to earn two rewards by watching a participating creator’s channel.
In the announcement for the showcase, Blizzard stated:
“… kicking off the next chapter of Overwatch with a dedicated keynote, diving headfirst into what’s ahead. This is where we pull back the curtain, set the stage for what’s coming next, and share how the world of Overwatch is evolving, plus the part you play in the next big story. Spotlight is built to bring everyone into the fight for a better future.”
While this sounds intriguing, the team is keeping details under wraps, leaving fans curious about what to expect. The only clue regarding Overwatch 2’s 2026 plans hints at Talon, the game’s antagonistic faction, playing a significant role. Recently, Talon member Vendetta has been featured prominently on the main menu screen during the final weeks of Overwatch 2’s season 20, following her introduction as a damage hero earlier this season, and the settings menu has received a Talon-themed update as well.
The Overwatch Spotlight comes after a strong year for Blizzard’s sequel, which has finally moved past the challenges of its canceled PvE mode and is carving out a more distinct identity. Blizzard has previously mentioned that the future of Overwatch aims to enhance player freedom and delve deeper into the “hero fantasy” with each character’s abilities.
We’ll discover more about this future on Wednesday.
