YouTube Premium Prices Are on the Rise

YouTube Premium is seeing a price increase in the US, with standard individual accounts going up by $2 and family plans rising by as much as $4. This change is already in effect for new users and is gradually being applied to existing subscribers.

The Individual plan now costs $15.99 per month, up from $13.99, while the Family plan for up to five users is now $26.99, previously $22.99. The Premium Lite option, which reduces most ads but excludes YouTube Music, is now priced at $8.99 monthly, an increase from $7.99.

New signups will see these prices immediately, and existing subscribers are starting to receive notifications about the increase through emails stating:

> To continue delivering great service and features, we’re increasing your price to $15.99/month. We don’t make these decisions lightly, but this update will allow us to continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists you watch on YouTube.
> You will see the change reflected on your June 7, 2026 billing date.

This price adjustment follows similar increases from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video last month. YouTube Premium last adjusted its US pricing in 2023, while many international users experienced price hikes in late 2024.
