Zelda 40th Anniversary Brings Stunning Joy-Cons for Switch 2
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is set to drop on November 5, but fans can get their hands on a special Zelda-themed Switch a week earlier. The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition console will be available starting October 29, featuring some really stylish Joy-Cons.
Unveiled during the latest Zelda Direct, this marks the first special-edition Switch 2 since its launch over a year ago. The console sports a gold Triforce on the dock and forest-green Joy-Con controllers adorned with subtle Triforce symbols.
This release also signifies the first time since the new console’s debut that Nintendo is offering Joy-Cons in colors other than black. Earlier this year, a pair of purple and mint Joy-Cons for Splatoon Raiders were released, but they didn’t quite capture the excitement.
In addition to the special-edition Switch 2, there will also be a Zelda-themed Switch 2 Pro controller and a carrying case, both featuring the same Triforce colors and designs. They all look fantastic, though pricing details are still under wraps.
The Zelda 40th Anniversary lineup also includes new amiibo for Ocarina of Time. While the game’s graphical style has sparked some debate, the amiibo—featuring young Link and young Zelda—are among the most impressive figures Nintendo has created.
