BLAST Invites Bids for 2027 and 2028 Destination Cities
Global esports tournament organizer BLAST has kicked off its search for host cities for major live arena events in 2027 and 2028. They’re inviting cities and regions to express their interest in hosting exciting competitions across popular titles like Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Fortnite, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and Brawl Stars.
In 2025, BLAST held 15 arena shows in 10 countries across four continents, selling over 190,000 tickets in total. The organization has ambitious plans for the future, aiming for 40 live arena events worldwide.
For potential host cities, large-scale esports competitions can significantly boost local economies through increased tourism, commerce, and travel accommodations. Additionally, these events can pave the way for other major happenings, including concerts, sports events, trade shows, and conferences.
BLAST points to the BLAST.tv Austin Major in 2025 as a prime example of the benefits esports can bring to a location. A report from Angelou Economics highlighted that the Counter-Strike Major generated over $102 million in total economic impact, marking it as one of the most significant sporting events ever held in North America, attracting fans from all 50 states and 37 countries.
Those interested in hosting can find more details at Blast.tv. The deadline for expressing interest is February 12, with bid submissions due by March 16 for 2027 events and July 3 for 2028.
