The Group Stage divides the 16 teams into two groups of eight, following a GSL format. Each match is a best-of-five (Bo5) series, with teams competing in a double-elimination format. The top four teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs, while the others will be eliminated.
In the Playoffs, a single-elimination bracket will determine the champion. Teams that qualified from the upper side of their groups will be randomly matched against those from the lower side, but teams from the same group cannot face each other in the first round. Matches will be played as Bo7, with the grand final being a Bo9 series.

With FaZe Clan as the tournament favorites following their CoD Champs 2026 victory, and defending EWC champions OpTic Gaming also in the mix, the competition is fierce. Other strong contenders include Team Falcons, Gentle Mates, and 100 Thieves.
G2 Esports (G2 Minnesota), Carolina Royal Ravens, and Cloud9 (Cloud9 New York) have bolstered their rosters with new talent, including Beans, Traixx, and Gwinn.
The champions of BO7 EWC 2026 will take home $600,000 from the $1.8 million prize pool, which is slightly less than the $800,000 awarded to the winners of CoD Champs.
