CS2 Singapore Major Set for 2026 by PGL

PGL has confirmed that Singapore will host the second Counter-Strike 2 Major in 2026, marking a historic moment for both the game and the Southeast Asian esports scene, as it will be the region’s inaugural CS2 Major.

Silviu Stroie, CEO of PGL, expressed excitement about this milestone, stating, “Bringing the first Counter-Strike Major to Singapore is a moment that truly inspires us.”

The Major is set to take place from November 25 to December 13, 2026, spanning nearly three weeks. A total of 32 teams will compete across three stages for a staggering prize pool of $1,250,000 and the coveted Major trophy.

The playoffs will culminate in a best-of-five grand final at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, which boasts a capacity of 12,000 seats. While the earlier stages will unfold in a studio setting, the final four days will bring the electrifying atmosphere of a live audience to the stadium.

PGL’s plans for 2025 and 2026 already feature several arena events, and this Major is another significant addition. With a rich history of hosting Counter-Strike Majors, PGL has produced some of the most-watched CS events ever, including Stockholm 2021 (2,748,434 peak viewers), Antwerp 2022 (2,113,610 peak viewers), and Copenhagen 2024 (1,853,954 peak viewers). The Singapore Major is poised to enhance that legacy.

The 2026 schedule aligns with Valve’s strategy of hosting one Major in Europe and one outside of it, with Singapore taking the non-EU slot next year. This is a groundbreaking opportunity for fans in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

While Singapore has previously hosted major events like Dota 2’s The International, this will be the first time a Counter-Strike Major is held in the region.

Ms. Jean Ng, Assistant Chief Executive from the Singapore Tourism Board, shared her enthusiasm, stating, “We look forward with much anticipation to hosting our first Counter-Strike Major in 2026, which will reinforce Singapore as a world-class events destination. As one of the most prestigious tournaments in the Counter-Strike scene, the event promises to attract fans from around the region, and we invite them to also enjoy Singapore’s lifestyle experiences and vibrant energy.”
